"I'm giving you a night call to tell you how I feel"

-Kavinsky's "Nightcall"

"I know, I know

It's the middle of the night

I know, I know

That the timing isn't right

But I'm waiting at the end of your driveway

The end of your driveway

So we can get away

So we can get away"

-Darcys' "San Diego, 1988"

I confess...for so long:

I stood by the backdoor, waiting...praying to the gods like a pagan lost-drowning in the well of his desires -- a shadow in the dark seeking harbor from his own hurricane's dissonance. I kept my faith from wandering into the shelter of my mistakes. I made up lost time. I spun around Fiction's gaze. I ached to feel a body quiver in between broken whispers. I longed to hear a heart-beats foreign language abound me with soft spoken secrets. I unspooled the thread from my words until the last syllable came undone and reached the tip of her silhouette -- a tipping point: a moment of sweet and disarming surrender: I met you.
